Faith of Moses

In examining the life of Moses we come to learn of his faithfulness. Also we begin to learn how to become beloved of the Heavenly Father. This study will help you see that your life is not that different from those of the past generations. In fact the life of Moses resembles that of our nation, which is tempted with deceitful riches and has become strangers to the commonwealth of Israel.

Hebrews 11:23“By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.”

Moses was born during the captivity (slavery) of Israel in Egypt, in those days the king (Pharaoh) commanded that all the males be killed. Exodus 1:15“And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:” Verse 16:“And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.“Verse 22: “And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.”

Truly faithful were his parents in preserving the life of their child for three months, giving an example to future generations to have faith in God even in captivity. During other captivities the oppressors sought to destroy a nation by eliminating their seed. Consider the Greeks, who forced Israelites to profane themselves and forget their heritage. Many died in faith resisting their rule by fleeing for liberation (1st Maccabees 1:41-64). Similar to this, in the captivity of the Romans, the Israelites suffered great loss when their children were slaughtered by Herod (Matthews 2:13-18). These things have not changed from the most recent captivity (1400’s to this generation) yet we have been preserved by the mercies of God. Lamentations 3:22“It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.”

Food For Thought

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Your Cross

As to the nature of that suffering, the bible is very clear. 2 Timothy 3:12 states that “All that will live Godly shall suffer persecution.” Indeed, persecution of any sort by the opponents of the Gospel is the suffering or the cross that Christ says a disciple of His must take on.

The Seed of The Word

So, the basic operation of the Kingdom of God is the Word. Joshua success and prosperity in Joshua 1:8 was his constant meditation on the Book of the Law. Likewise our success and prosperity today is the same: incessant meditation on the Bible which is the sum total of the Word of God for our harvest.

Education

True education is a grand science; for it is founded on the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom. It's that element of "Understanding" God's ways.
