The Gift Of God Is Free

Tags: Daily Devotional

Often times parents tell their children if they behave or do something they will reward them. When you work for wage, you are exchanging your talent, time, sweat and know-how for a agreed upon price. Money, barter or just a favor are the wages we work for.

Many liken this to salvation as if it’s something one must earn. Nevertheless, Paul says in Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” The word of God is saying that the God of the universe is giving you eternal life for free! Not only do you live forever but you are saved from this body of death. You can have the power to live like Jesus wants you to.

You Really Don’t Want What You Deserve

So, why do we try to earn what God has given us for free? Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. “ That’s silly. Why pass up on free? We insult our maker by not accepting our gift. I mean, c’mon, if you gave a gift to a friend or spouse, child etc. what would you feel like if they turned you down and said, “No thanks, I’ll get it myself…”

Salvation and all that comes with it, was paid for at Christ’s expense. Romans 5:15-17; 1 Peter2: 24. You owe nothing.

Simple choice. Accept His free gift today.

This is so true. So profound. Jesus paid it all.

Education

True education is a grand science; for it is founded on the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom. It's that element of "Understanding" God's ways.

Listen, we need the truth. The truth -"is" "what is"- and our LORD claimed to be "THE Truth".

Any form of education that does not pursue the truth is not worth having.
