The gospel of salvation from sin is founded in self-denial and sacrifice for the good of others.

God expects of us perfect obedience to his law. God has plainly stated that he expects us to be perfect. God’s people are to reflect to the world the bright rays of his glory. But in order for them to do this, they must stand where these rays can fall on them.

How is the world to be enlightened, save by the lives of Christ’s followers? You profess to believe in Christ, to be a follower of his. Do you do his works? Can the world see plainly that you have been with Jesus, and learned of him? How are unbelievers to know that you belong to Christ if you show no zeal in his service?

The words of the Christian are to be carefully chosen. His deportment is to be above reproach. It is the revealing of the goodness of Christ’s character that has so decided an influence on all with whom he is brought in contact.

Within the Christian faith itself, the controversy over His name is alarming. Numerous books and articles are written about the pagan roots of His name causing many to question His true Hebrew name. This controversy perhaps is one of the cause of much widespread strife in His body. In fact, whole denominations are formed upon that.
