The Old vs. The New or Law vs. Grace

gerald-lubin-pastor
Indeed, Christ’s ministry on earth perfectly fulfill every part of the law which man was unable to do. ”For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh , but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:3-4. And at the completion of His ministry the law was abolished completely. Ephesians 2:4-15. When Jesus established the new covenant, He came to give life more abundantly. John 10:10.

The Reward of Grace

gerald-lubin-pastor
Simply put, what God bestows as a gift cannot be earned, nor can it be repaid. Through this wonderful channel come all the blessings of God to us. 2 Peter 1:4. We deserve nothing, but he gives us everything. If we could earn them, they would no longer be gifts, but rewards.

The Tragedy of Fear

gerald-lubin-pastor
Could it be that these fears were what opened the door for Satan to think that Job would denounce God if he lost all he had? Could it be that fear is also what Satan is using as a wedge between you and your Creator? What are you afraid of today? Is your house in foreclosure? Are you afraid you can’t pay your bills because you‘ve lost your job? Are you afraid of death because you or a loved one has been diagnosed with a terminal illness? Are you under any sort of condemnation? Jesus our Savior knows all about your problems.

The Least in the Kingdom of Heaven

gerald-lubin-pastor

Though John accomplished the greatest mission ever given to a mortal: “to prepare the way of the Lord” (Malachi 4:5), He was born under the law and subject to obey and to do all that the law prescribes if he would be saved. And though he ushered in the new covenant when he coined the term “the Kingdom of God is at hand” Matthew 3: 2 ,which became the dominant theme of Christ’s ministry, but this Kingdom wasn’t ratified till after the death and the resurrection of Christ.

The Seed of The Word

gerald-lubin-pastor

So, the basic operation of the Kingdom of God is the Word. Joshua success and prosperity in Joshua 1:8 was his constant meditation on the Book of the Law. Likewise our success and prosperity today is the same: incessant meditation on the Bible which is the sum total of the Word of God for our harvest.

How to be Saved

gerald-lubin-pastor

While they are numerous scriptures that elude to that fact, (Matthew 3:7-8, Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19 etc..) yet these scriptures were primarily directed to the Jews who willfully and knowingly rejected Jesus. In this case repentance comes before salvation. But in every other case, especially in the Gentile world, salvation comes through Romans 10:9 “Confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart, that God has raised Him from the dead thou shall be saved.”

Effectual Faith

gerald-lubin-pastor

Christ followed up by saying in verse 7 “Shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them.” This verse however causes many to liken God unto this unjust judge. Somehow to get something from Him, one has to continuously beg Him until He releases it —just to get rid of him so to speak. Christ, by no means, intended for any to represent God this way.

Jesus Christ Is Their Righteousness

dvi

More than 14 hundred years before Jesus came, the children of Israel gathered in the valley of Shechem, and from the mountains on either side the voices of the priests were heard proclaiming the blessings and the curses. These blessings were based upon their obedience to the law, which was their righteousness. Deuteronomy 6:24-25.

The Faith of God

gerald-lubin-pastor

This verse is often used by new covenant believers to explain how salvation is a gift from God. According to this same verse, not only salvation but faith also is a free gift from God. It is impossible for one to accept that free gift of salvation without the faith of God. That’s why upon receiving salvation, one also receives this faith, which enables him or her to live victoriously there after.

To promote that reconciliation or the Gospel of the Good News of the Grace of God to all mankind is our ministry. (Titus 2:11) That atonement for sin is made, the law in all its forms is done away with. All man has to do is accept that grace by receiving Jesus the Savior of the world.
