“Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on earth.” Luke 18:8
In order to correctly decipher the true meaning of this prophetic verse pronounced by our Lord Jesus, we must understand the parable that led up to this prophecy in verse 1-7. In a nutshell, it was about an unjust judge who at first refused to give justice to a widow. But because of her persistence, this ungodly judge served her just to get rid of her.
Christ followed up by saying in verse 7 “Shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them.” This verse however causes many to liken God unto this unjust judge. Somehow to get something from Him, one has to continuously beg Him until He releases it —just to get rid of him so to speak. Christ, by no means, intended for any to represent God this way.
In fact, God is love. 1 John 4:8 He is good. Psalms 34:8 He also is just and true. Revelation 15:3. “No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.” Psalms 84:11 It is His good pleasure to supply our needs according to His abundant riches and glory. Philippians 4:19. Further, He made us heirs and joint heirs with His only begotten son Jesus. Romans 8: 17 Because he so loved the world He gave His son to be the propitiation for our sins.1 John2:2. John3:16.
Just as God is misrepresented in this parable, so is the widow. The new covenant says, “Everyone that asketh receives.” Matthew 7:8. Under this covenant, the elect of God comes to him believing that “ He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seeketh Him.” Hebrew 11:6.
The elect of God further knows that He is well pleasing to Him in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 1:5-6. Before they called He answers. Isaiah 65:24. Through Grace, he is already given; in his spirit, all that he would ever need in this life and in the life to come. He is also complete, perfect in Him, in that same spirit. Hebrew 12:23.
That’s why the apostle Paul counsels Philemon, “that the communication of your faith be made effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing that is in you in Christ Jesus.” This counsel is for every Christian as well. This is what makes our faith effectual. Nonetheless, we know that it is impossible to acknowledge something unless it’s already there.
So, what are the good things that are in a Christian? Every born again Christian has in him all the fruit of the spirit. Galatians 5:22 (love, joy, peace, long-suffering…), all spiritual blessings Ephesians 1:3 (healing, prosperity, ….), he is made the righteousness of God 2 Corinthians 5:21,…etc. But he may say how come I don’t experience it? It is because of his failure to understand John 3:6 which says, “That which is spirit is spirit and that which is flesh is flesh.”
Yes, in our carnal mind, we may not think we have it, but we do, in our spirit. We have the same spirit Jesus has and the same power that resurrected Him from the dead in us. 1Corinthians 6:17. Ephesians 1:19-20.
This is this faith that Christ says when he comes will he find. This kind of faith is what makes the Christian life more than conqueror. Romans 8:37. This faith only will overcome the world.1 John 5:4 This faith causes the elect of God to release that which he already has in Christ Jesus through prayer of praise and thanksgiving and not through continual begging. This faith also causes us to live in the supernatural instead of the natural. Indeed, this faith is what pleases God. Hebrew 11:6
Receive this faith today and defeat the devil in all its snares.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Just like Israel of old, we become complacent after the departure of the disciples and allow every curse of the old covenant to be part of the new covenant now. To the point where a spirit-filled Christian today accepts sickness, poverty and oppression to be a part of the abundant life that Jesus came to give.
