God's Unconditional Love

“God is love.”1 John 4:8
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

How can the world receive the love of God when every disaster in the world is classified as an act of God. If you don’t believe me, take a look at your home insurance policy. Things like floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, and earthquakes, even the one that just killed approximately 200,000 people in Haiti etc. are all acts of God according to popular beliefs.

In the realm of religion, death and sickness are taught to be the will of God. No matter how a person dies, be it from car crash, airplane crash, or any freak accident, whether young or old, the popular saying is “ God wants them more in heaven than we need them here.”

Take for instance, wars which are responsible for untold human casualties, rape of women and children, injustices of any kind, again according to religion, God controls everything therefore He must have allowed these horrendous situations. No wonder, people are so afraid of God.

In this case, God should be indicted, tried, convicted and executed for crimes against humanity. Nonetheless, under the old covenant, it is true that God, by necessity, used some harsh methods in dealing with mankind.

But under the new covenant, God must change methods, and He has. Otherwise, He would have to apologize to Jesus. At the cross, the penalty for sins was met and God’s wrath is no longer directed towards mankind. (John 3:16) Jesus paid it all. 1 John 2:2; 2 Corinthians 5:19-20.

This new covenant grants us free access to all that He has. Ephesians 1:3-5, we are heirs and joint heirs with Christ. (Galatians 4:1-7). Sin is not imputed to us. (Romans 5:13) We are free from any curse. (Galatians 3:13) We have unbridle power and authority over Satan.( Luke 9:1) We are accepted in the beloved. (Ephesians 1:5) We have in us the same power that Jesus had. (Ephesians 1:19-20) We have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit who teaches us all things including things to come. John 14:26 etc.

By these facts, it is evident that religion, in cohort with the devil, refuses to teach this Good News of the love of God. Instead, they blame God for all the bad things that take place in this world. The bible is very clear in that God is not in control of everything that happens here on earth. (Psalms 115:16)

Wars come as a result of our own lust James 4:1. In Psalms 90, God gives a minimum life expectancy of 70 years. Therefore, any death under 70 years is not of God. This is why we have power to raise the dead Matthew 10:8. In John 10:10, the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy.

I cannot stress this enough that God loves you more than you can imagine. His love for you is depicted in the parable of the Prodigal Son. Now, this is unconditional love.
