“For by grace ye are saved through faith; and that not of ourselves: It is the gift of gift.” Ephesians 2:8
This verse is often used by new covenant believers to explain how salvation is a gift from God. According to this same verse, not only salvation but faith also is a free gift from God. It is impossible for one to accept that free gift of salvation without the faith of God. That’s why upon receiving salvation, one also receives this faith, which enables him or her to live victoriously there after.
According to Hebrews 11:1, this faith is “The substance of thing hope for and the evidence of things not seen.” It is given to every born again child of God in the same proportion. Romans 12:3 It is nurtured by hearing the word of God. Romans 10:17. It is a supernatural faith which works by love. This faith is a creative one. It “calleth those things which be not as though they were.” Romans 4:17. It is a world overcoming faith. 1 John 5:4.
In contrast to this faith, there is a human counterpart, which is tangible. It is based on sense knowledge. This is what the world uses. The case of Thomas in John 20:27-29 is an example of that. A Christian is called to shun at any cost such a faith because it always breeds doubts and unbelief. It profits nothing.
The apostle Paul’s life in Galatians 2:20 was a life based of the faith of Jesus. Every Christian’s life should reflect this verse. This faith causes us always to triumph in Christ Jesus. 2 Corinthians 2:14. With this kind of faith, nothing is impossible to them that believe. Matthew 17:20. The disciples experienced it and it worked wonders.
The reason our churches today don’t experience the same results as that of the disciples is because they have begun in the spirit and chose to continue in the flesh as is expressed by Paul of the Galatians in chapter 3:3. While calling themselves new covenant churches, they teach it’s ok to be sick, God does not always heal, or miracles don’t happen today.
This kind of teaching kills the faith of God in the hearts of the believers causing them to live a life of mediocrity. Always begging God to do for them what He’s already done in Christ Jesus.
Though it is the faith of God, however much or little of it can be released based on the value it occupies in a Christian’s life. Once the disciple asked Jesus to increase their faith. Jesus’ answer to them was not how much faith; instead how much unbelief is present. The faith that equals that of a mustard seed without unbelief is enough to move mountains.
You have the same faith that Jesus has. Revelation 14:12 Also the same faith as the disciples 2 Peter1: 1. Release this faith today and be a blessing to others.
