A Lesson of Trust
The ass knows nothing about astronomy, physiology, or theology; but he does know his master’s crib; he knows whence cometh his daily supply of food, and without worry or concern rests and trusts in that knowledge: but the backslidden Israelite knows not his Master’s crib. He becomes anxious and worried, and frets, and gets discouraged about what he shall eat, and what he shall drink, and wherewithal he shall be clothed. Effectual Faith

Christ followed up by saying in verse 7 “Shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them.” This verse however causes many to liken God unto this unjust judge. Somehow to get something from Him, one has to continuously beg Him until He releases it —just to get rid of him so to speak. Christ, by no means, intended for any to represent God this way.

Christian Given Land, Life, Possession By God

Just like Israel of old, we become complacent after the departure of the disciples and allow every curse of the old covenant to be part of the new covenant now. To the point where a spirit-filled Christian today accepts sickness, poverty and oppression to be a part of the abundant life that Jesus came to give.
